The delegates of this year’s Miss Earth pageant are expected to arrive in the Philippines starting today, Oct. 19, but several aspirants have already flown into Manila for the 24th edition of the international competition.

In the calendar of activities that the organizers posted on social media on Friday, Oct. 18, the arrival of delegates was scheduled over the weekend and will end on Monday, Oct. 21.

But even before the expected arrival of participants, several aspirants have already flocked to Manila, including the candidates from Australia, Cabo Verde, Cameroon, Chile, the Dominican Republic, Italy, the Netherlands, Puerto Rico, the United States, US Virgin Islands and Wales.

Even host delegate Irha Mel Alfeche flew into Manila from Mindanao. She represented Matanao, Davao del Sur, in the Miss Philippines Earth pageant in May.

Based on the Miss Earth 2024 calendar of activities, the delegates will be officially presented to the members of the media on Wednesday, Oct. 23.

From Oct. 24 to Nov 5, the delegates will visit different destinations in the Philippines. They will also engage in educational tours in schools and will take part in a fashion show and the pre-judging for long gown, swimsuit and talent within the period.

The rehearsals for the final competition show will be on Nov. 6 to 8, while the coronation night is scheduled on Nov. 9 at Okada Manila in Parañaque City.

This year’s Miss Earth season is shorter than the previous editions, where activities ran for almost a month. The 2024 pageant also marks its return to the Philippines after being mounted in Vietnam last year.

Reigning Miss Earth Drita Ziri from Albania will crown her successor at the end of the competition. Eighty-two delegates are competing this year.
